The Prosecutor General’s Office had previously announced that, within the scope of the function of confiscating property of illegal origin, a settlement agreement was reached on February 15, 2024, with the former Head of Tavush Region Hovik Abovyan and affiliated persons. The court-approved settlement was based on an application submitted on January 22, 2024, by Hovik Abovyan and affiliated persons to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in which they expressed their willingness to resolve the case through a settlement by transferring approximately AMD 608 million to the ownership of the Republic of Armenia.

As of September 26, 2025, the entire amount — AMD approximately 608 million— has been fully paid into the state budget.
