On February 14, 2025, the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Armavir Region for 2024 were summarized under the leadership of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan.
The summary meeting was attended by Yeghiazar Avagyan, the Deputy Prosecutor General of the RA, Vahan Sargsyan, the Prosecutor of Armavir Region, Argishti Mekhakyan, the Governor of Armavir Region, Mher Aprikyan, Secretary General of the Prosecutor’s Office, the leaders of the regional structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Security Service, Investigative Committee and Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Region and others.
Vahan Sargsyan, presented the report on the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of Shirak Region for 2024, focusing, inter alia, on the criminal proceedings submitted to the court with an indictment. According to the Prosecutor of the Region, during 2024, 1307 criminal proceedings were submitted to the court with judgements of conviction (in 2023 – 435 criminal proceedings). “That is to say, 872 or 200% more cases were submitted to the court by the Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of Armavir Region” mentioned the Prosecutor of the Region.
946 criminal cases were examined and completed at the courts of Armavir Region (in 2023 – 320 criminal cases). According to the Prosecutor of the Region such a positive outcome was possible to gain in the result of planning the court sessions properly and it was promoted by the observance of the Prosecutor General's instruction of March 3, 2023, to exclude unjustified absences of prosecutors from court hearings.
During 2024, judgment of conviction was delivered on 943 criminal cases out of 946 criminal cases on 994 persons.
During 2024, the Prosecutor’s of the Prosecutor’s Office of Armavir Region submitted 4 civil and 2 administrative claims within the framework of protection of state and community interests which are under investigation.
According to Vahan Sargsyan, during 2024, about AMD 420 million of damage was recovered through all ongoing and completed criminal proceedings.
Anna Vardapetyan gave the Prosecutor of Armavir Region and the Prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office a number of instructions and set deadlines in order to intensify work in the areas of protecting state and community interests, as well as illegal subsoil use.
