Based on the decision of Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, dated November 26, 2025, a disciplinary proceedings was initiated against the person holding an autonomous position at the Prosecutor’s Office of Lori region.

In the scope of the proceedings it was confirmed that the prosecutor failed to fulfill his official duties properly. In particular, being responsible for ensuring the lawfulness of initiating criminal prosecution and the legality of pre-trial proceedings, possessing facts proving the commission of a crime, failed to initiate a public criminal prosecution against those individuals and resolve the case.

The results of the disciplinary proceedings were submitted to the Ethic Commission adjacent to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia on January 31, 2025.

By its decision of February 5, 2025, the Ethics commission confirmed the existence of disciplinary violation and the guilt of the Prosecutor. 

Based on the decision of the Prosecutor General dated February 6, 2025, a disciplinary penalty in the form of “demotion of a class rank by one level” was applied against the person holding an autonomous position at the Prosecutor’s Office of Lori region.
