A session of Collegium was organized today, chaired by Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General and an issue of appointing a Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia was discussed during the session.
Taking into consideration the fact that the position of Deputy Prosecutor General has been vacant since November 28, 2024 (Artur Poghosyan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia has been appointed to the position of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee) Anna Vardapetyan, announced the candidacy of Aram Aramyan, Prosecutor of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of the city of Yerevan, pursuant to part 3 of article 36 of the law “On Prosecutor’s Office”.
The Prosecutor General highly appreciated personal and professional qualities of Aram Aramyan and explained the logic underlying her choice—the prosecutor who served the Republic of Armenia for many years and was highly respected in the Prosecutor’s Office received an advancement opportunity. “Mr. Aramyan I hope that the bar set by Mr. Poghosyan shall be kept and 2025 shall be declared a community interests’ protection year,” highlighted Anna Vardapetyan.
The members of the Collegium approved Aram Aramyan’s candidacy and attached importance to his personal and professional qualities and his high sense of responsibility towards his work.
Aram Aramyan, candidate for the Deputy Prosecutor General thanked the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia for her trust and highlighted “This is a great responsibility, I will do my best to properly solve the issues that the Prosecutor’s Office may face”.
After Collegium session Aram Aramyan was appointed to the position of the Deputy Prosecutor General based on the order of the Prosecutor General.
