On August 4, 2023 the Prosecutor signed the indictment in the scope of the remote trial against A.G. former member of “Republican” party (RPA) of the National Assembly and submitted to the competent court with the materials of the proceeding. At the same time the prosecutor submitted a motion to the court on conducting a remote trial against the accused.

On December 2, 2024 the Court awarded prosecutor’s motion, which means that a remote trial shall be conducted against A.G. former member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

Let us remind that pursuant to the decision of the prosecutor dated February 24, 2023, a public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.G. former member of the National Assembly under article 310.1 (illicit enrichment), part 2 of article 314.3 (including false data in the declaration and concealing data subject to declaration) (3 counts), point 1 of part 3 of article 190 (legalization of proceeds of crime (money laundering)) of the Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003.

Under the criminal proceedings examined in the Anti-corruption committee it was found out that for the purpose of concealing the criminal origin, location and management methods and movement of funds and property in particularly large amount, as well as for making them look legitimate, A.G., entered them into a lawful circulation and obtained several transportation means and properties during 2012-2018. 

In particular:

• In 2015, the latter purchased a land plot on Aghababyan Street, Davtashen administrative district of the city of Yerevan for AMD 28 million.
• On April 6, 2011— an apartment located at Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, United States of America for AMD 490 thousand.
• On August 10, 2015 — an apartment located at Campbell Str., Glendale for USD 520 thousand.

• On June 2, 2016 — an apartment located at Whitsett Ave., Valley Villagefor USD 475 thousand.
• On March 6, 2019 — a private house located at Merriman, Los Angeles for USD 1 million 525 thousand.

Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
