On November 18, 2024, the prosecutor signed an indictment regarding the persons conducting illegal sales of drugs in particularly large amounts as well as money laundering in particularly large amounts and submitted it to the competent court with the materials of the case.
It was revealed under the criminal proceedings that from January 2023 until May 2024, T.T-T with prior consent with M.A.—a registered user of “Telegram” telecommunication application and other individuals, through the online platforms registered in the “Telegram” telecommunication application, organized illegal purchase of drugs, separation thereof according to the necessary weights, packaging and placing in the hiding places. Afterwards, they marked their geographical coordinates through a software application and provided them to the individuals, who wanted to buy drugs and transferred necessary amounts to the cryptocurrency wallets, thus carrying out illegal sale in particularly large amounts of different types of drugs, including “methamphetamine” and “marijuana”.
They received AMD 6 million 574 thousand from the sale of drugs and for hiding its criminal origin, they received the mentioned amounts in their cryptocurrency accounts from different digital wallets, afterwards they transferred those amounts to digital wallets registered in the names of different persons within the territory of the Republic of Armenia, however actually managed by them, and only afterwards they cashed those amounts out.
The prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against H.T-T. and M.A. under point 2 of part 3 of Article 393 (illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic (psychoactive) substances, their mixtures or substances equivalent thereto (analogues thereof) for the purpose of sales or the illegal sales thereof) and points 1 and 2 of part 2 of article 296 (money laundering) of the Criminal Code.
Notice: A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
