On October 31, 2024, the Prosecutor approved the indictment on the person who attempted murder in Aragatsotn Region and submitted the proceedings to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Aragatsotn Region.
Under the criminal proceedings, it was found that B.E., having been deprived of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one year, on July 12, 2024, about 01:20, while driving on Yeghvard-Ashtarak highway, in the administrative area of Nor Yerznka settlement forced to stop the car driven by M.M., who was overtaking him. B.E. got out of the car, argued with M.M., hit the latter's car, shouted profanities in the presence of the two passengers in M.M's car, hit M.M. in the face. Then, B.E. got into his car and left the said place, but after driving a certain distance, stopped his car in a horizontal position, close M.M's way, approached him and hit M.M.'s in the chest with a knife, causing grave damage to his health.
Immediately after receiving the injury, M.M. overtook B.E.'s car, which was blocking the carriageway, and left the scene. B.E. pursued M.M. until the beginning of Ashtarak, however, not being able to stop him and complete the crime, he changed his way, as for M.M., he turned to the “Ashtarak” medical centre to receive medical assistance.
On September 10, 2024, the Prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against B.E. under Point 12, Part 2, of Article 44-155 and Part 1 of Article 344 of the Criminal Code.
On October 31, 2024, the indictment was approved and submitted to the competent court along with the proceedings’ fies.
Detention was applied to the accused B.E. as a measure of restraint.
