The prosecutor sent the criminal case on attempted murder at Ashtarak city to the court

On 17 October 2024, the prosecutor confirmed the indictment against A.C., accused of attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms and transferred the proceedings to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Aragatsotn region.

During the criminal proceedings investigated by the Investigation Department of Aragatsotn region, it was established that on August 8, 2023, A.S., having learned that V.G., the man who killed his father R.S. many years ago is in a cafe in Ashtarak city, with the intention of killing him on the same day at about 21:30 o’clock, went to the parking lot of the mentioned cafe and hid. When V.G. approached and got into the car, A.S. fired four times in the direction of V. G. from an illegally held firearm which has not been found yet.

The crime was not completed. The bullets fired did not hit V.G. with a slight deviation. A.S. ran away from the scene. 

The prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against A.S. on 3 October 2024 under Article 44-155, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (attempted murder) and Article 335, Part 1 (Illegal Circulation of Firearm, Its Main Constituting Parts, Ammunition and Other Substances, Devices, Objects).

 

The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Aragatsotn region applied measure of restraint in the form of house arrest, bail and restriction to leave against the accused A.S.

 

The appeal for special review filed by the prosecutor on 10 October 2024 was granted. Detention was applied to A.S. as a preventive measure.

 

On 17 October 2024, the proceedings were transferred to a competent court with an approved indictment.
