On 23 August 2024 the Anti-corruption Court accepted into proceeding the next application of the Prosecutor General’s Office on confiscation of property of illegal origin.

The Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin appealed to the Court to confiscate from Vardan Ghukasyan, the Former Mayor of Gyumri City and affiliated people in favor of the Republic of Armenia:

• 17 immovable properties,
• 1 means of transport,
• participation in 2 legal entities,
• AMD 4 billion 496 thousand, as remainder of illicit income,
• AMD 218 billion 335 not substantiated by the lawful income, but has illegal origin which was transferred to bona fide party or was not possible to identify and confiscate.
