About 60% of the prosecutors of the Republic of Armenia will have passed an integrity test by the end of 2024: Anna Vardapetyan met the Charge d’Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of Armenia

Today Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General met the delegation led by Jaap Frederiks, Charge d’Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia.

 

Anna Vardapetyan thanked the representatives of the Embassy for the joint programs and as the best example of the cooperation referred to the results of the training on the development of communication skills and competences of all the prosecutors of the Republic of Armenia (duration: 6 months) implemented with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. “The justice must not only be implemented, but it must also be visible and understandable. The results of the training having this goal became measurable due to the examination of the public opinion implemented in the Republic of Armenia on December 2023, organized by the initiative of the International Republican Institute, pursuant whereof, the satisfaction index increased by 8% compared to the results of the survey, conducted on March 2023”, mentioned the Prosecutor General of the Republic and with the Charge d’Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia discussed an opportunity of starting another training for the prosecutors. 

 

Jaap Frederiks highly appreciated the joint training and highlighted that the Kingdom of the Netherlands shall support the democratic reforms in the Republic of Armenia, that are aimed at the strengthening of the rule of law and protection of the human rights.

 

In this context the Parties discussed the prospects and directions of joint programs.

 

During the conversation with the Charge d’Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General referred to the process of testing the integrity of the prosecutors and mentioned that about 60% of the prosecutors of the Republic of Armenia will have passed the integrity test by the end of 2024. “Although the conclusion on the integrity is of consultative nature, the Prosecutor’s Office attaches a huge importance to it as the prosecutor pursuing a charge at a court or submitting a claim on the confiscation of an illicit property must comply with the norms of integrity and have a good working reputation,” highlighted Anna Vardapetyan.

 

The Parties discussed other issues of mutual interest.
