Today, Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia met the delegation led by Maurizio Block, Military Prosecutor General of Italy.

Grigor Elizbaryan, RA Military Prosecutor, RA Deputy Prosecutor General, Alfonso Di Riso, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia, Tsovinar Hambardzumyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Italy and others also participated in the meeting.

Anna Vardapetyan greeted her colleagues from Italy and thanked them for accepting the invitation. She highlighted that RA Prosecutor’s Office is taking steps to develop the international-legal cooperation and expand the ways of interaction with foreign partners. “With this regard, we attached importance to the stable cooperation with Italy based on trust and we aim at deepening cooperation in transnational crimes in particular”, mentioned the Prosecutor General of the Republic and she also noted that the visit of the delegation led by Maurizio Block is the second visit of high-ranking representatives of the Prosecutor's Office of Italy to Armenia during the recent two years.

During the meeting, among other issues, they also discussed several questions related to the structures of prosecution systems in both countries, scope of their powers, pending reforms and expansion of cooperation between the Prosecutor's Offices in the field of criminal justice.
