The Prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against A.P. who caused her nine-year-old daughter severe physical pain or severe mental suffering

On November 29, 2023 the Prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against A.P. for causing her nine-year-old daughter severe physical pain or severe mental suffering.

 

In particular, under the criminal proceedings it was found out that she pulled her nine-year-old daughter by hair, hit the child with her hands and feet on the way from the secondary school to their apartment, took off her clothes, leaving only her pants and t-shirt took her to the utility room located in their garden and belonging to her and locked the child inside. She left the child locked in the dark and cold place for 2 hours and 30 minutes. 

 

Data were obtained under the criminal proceedings, that A.P. regularly committed similar actions with her daughter. 

 

On November 29, 2023 the Prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against A.P. under points 3 and 6 of part 2 of article 196 of the Criminal Code.   

 

Detention was applied as a measure of restraint against A.P.

 

A.P.’s nine-year old daughter was transferred to the Child protection center.

 

 Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
