AMD 208 million—part of the damage caused to the Republic of Armenia was recovered

AMD 208 million—part of the damage caused to the Republic of Armenia was compensated in the scope of the criminal proceedings on the embezzlement of territory with the surface of 300square meters of the land plot located at 36 Koghbatsi, Yerevan allocated to “Yerevan Specialized secondary music school named after Tchaikovsky” SNCO under the right to gratuitous use.

 

The Prosecutor General’s Office received information that the part regarding H.P., the former Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia — the person charged under the criminal proceedings examined in the Main Directorate of Investigation of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia was separated and submitted to the Anti-corruption court.

 

The criminal prosecution against S.S. and H.A (from the eight persons charged under the criminal proceedings) was terminated as a result of the assessment of facts obtained during the preliminary examination (point 1 of part 1 of article 12 of the Criminal Prosecution Code).  

 

The preliminary examination regarding the other persons charged under the criminal proceedings is pending.

 

Let us remind that on May 16, 2023 the Prosecutor’s Office submitted a claim to the Anti-corruption court, requesting to recognize invalid the contract “On alienation of the property and pledge” concluded on December 3, 2012 between H.P., the former Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and “Sohocenter” LLC and as a consequence of invalidity of the transaction, recognize the state registration of the ownership right under the name of “Sohocenter” LLC invalid as well.

 

Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
