The commanders of military unit and battalion refused to perform their military service duties in October 2020. the prosecutor submitted the criminal case to the court

The Colonel A.G., occupying the position of the commander of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense, during the martial law announced by the Government on September 27, 2020, obviously refused to perform the certain duties of military service on October 15, 2020, at 14:00.

 

October 15, 2020, about 14:00, A.G., holding the position of the Head a separate motorized rifle regiment of the military unit of the Ministry of Defense, did not fulfill his duty to confront the enemy and show resistance to him, given by Major General A.P., his immediate superior, the commander of the "Piloyan" group. A.G. reasoned that he was in a depressed mental and refused to go to the front line, to lead subordinate personnel.

 

Under another criminal proceedings, information was obtained that lieutenant colonel S.M., occupying the position of the commander of the 1st rifle battalion of the N military unit of the RA Defense Ministry, on October 15, 2020 obviously refused to perform his military duties.

 

According to the prosecutor's decision, on May 31, 2023, a public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.G. and S.M.

 

On June 22, 2023, the supervising prosecutor confirmed the indictments and submitted to the Court of First Instance of Syunik region along with the case files.
