Today Mrs. Anna Vardapetyan received Mr. Luigi Salvato, the General Attorney at the Italian Supreme Court, who had arrived at Armenia for participating in the event of the 105^th anniversary of the establishment of the RA Prosecutor's Office and in the conference organized jointly with the Office of the Council of Europe.

Mrs. Anna Vardapetyan expressed her gratitude to the Italian colleague for accepting the invitation and for the willingness to sign a Memorandum of Understanding/MoU/.

The RA Prosecutor General emphasized that Armenia had always attached importance to the deepening of cooperation and relations with Italy, based on the long-term friendship between the two nations.

During the meeting the RA Prosecutor General and received Mr. Luigi Salvato, the General Attorney at the Italian Supreme Court signed a MoU, aimed at expanding the cooperation between the Prosecutor's Offices of the two countries in the field of criminal justice, ensuring the protection of human rights and freedoms and strengthening the rule of law.

Mrs. Anna Vardapetyan expressed hope that the exchange of experience, mutual visits and organization of joint conferences provided by the MoU will contribute to the further expansion of cooperation between the Prosecutor's Offices of the two countries and increase the effectiveness of the fight against transnational crime for the benefit of the Armenian and Italian peoples.
