In May 2022, the citizen Marianna Sahakyan announced a hunger strike in front of the Prosecutor General's Office complaining about injustice and patronage, asking to undertake measures to restore her violated rights.

Being consistent with the commitment to protect the violated rights of the person in the result of alleged criminal harassment, measures were undertaken to initiate a public criminal prosecution in regard with the long-lasting proceedings 0against the person who apparently committed the crime.

In the result of the criminal proceedings the identity of the person who stole the apartment from Marianna Sahakyan was revealed.

In particular, it was found out that M. K., intentionally distorting the reality, presenting not existing false data, as well as misleading the victim about the further events, under the pretext of conducting entrepreneurial activities and receiving joint income, cheated the victim and stole particularly large amount of money received after her apartment was sold - 19 million AMD, equivalent to 40,000 US dollars.

A decision was made by the supervising prosecutor to initiate a public criminal prosecution against M. K., which was sent to the body initiating the proceedings in order to file charges.

On 16 October 2022 M. K. was arrested, on the same day, a petition was submitted to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan City to apply detention as a preventive measure, which was granted by the court's decision. Detention was chosen against M. K. as a preventive measure.
